You’re getting to be in the most coziest place in the world, you’re getting to have more time to do chores, more energy from the extra sleep, and even spend time with the family.

These are all fantastic benefits but there are plenty of other great perks to working from home.

The Commute

The easiest, but the one that’s certainly the most true.

Working from home means you’re chopping away at the expenses that would normally go to the transportation that goes to work.

Let’s face it, most companies don’t offer any incentives or programs that pay for the employee’s transportation.

Depending on where you live, you could be spending over a quarter of your paycheck on transportation alone (sometimes even more).

This isn’t only the fuel for the car, but it extends much further than this such as maintenance and having to reach out to a car accident attorney, if there are any car accidents on your way to and from work.

Most car rides from a household tend to involve commuting to work.

The Costs Of Food

Even when you do head to work, there are plenty of ways to save money on food.

But whether it’s social pressure to go out for lunch or drinks, or you’re just too tired every day to make your own food, it’s still easier to manage this when you’re only home.

When you’re going to work, you may be tempted to go to the vending machine or take a short drive to the nearest store for snacks.

However, you’re not going to do that when you’re home.

You’ll have significantly more energy when you’re home so you’ll be able to just eat what you already have on hand, and it’s easier to control yourself if you have the munchies.

Clothes

Chances are, your work clothes are not the same as the clothes that you wear on a regular basis.

If you have a work uniform then chances are you need to wash that regularly (causing a higher water and energy bill).

If you’re needing to wear professional attire such as suits then that is going to cost some money in buying those but then a step further with all the dry cleaning. 

Another thing to consider is whether or not you’re trying to buy trendy clothes to look good at work.

There’s no shame in wanting to appear to be a millionaire when you’re working but it gets expensive.  

All of these reasons can heavily add up.

But if you’re working from home all of this pressure and these requirements are just dropped.

No more need to worry about dry cleaning, no more worries about constantly washing all of this laundry, no more pressure to look good and trendy.

Childcare

Childcare is one of the biggest expenses around if you have a family that is.

If your child has school then that’s less to worry about but if your child is younger than school age then you need to worry about daycare.

Oftentimes, parents’ work schedules have to be majorly adjusted so they can work around the schedule of their child’s daycare.

But getting the chance to work from home means that it’s an expense of the past.

Grooming

While you should always look into keeping yourself well-groomed, having to go to work puts that additional pressure on you to look well-groomed.

This can include regular haircuts, hair dying, but can also extend to shaving, makeup, and so much more.

There’s already this massive pressure to look good but going to work tends to increase this pressure tenfold.

But the pressure is almost nearly gone when working from home.

Even if you often have to be in Zoom calls, no one is going to notice those little changes about you like they would if you were at work in person. 

You can still invest in yourself but don’t feel pressure to look the way others are expecting you to look.

This is one of the biggest ways that you can save money from working remotely.
