Rural Decor: How To Recover A Cornice Board For Under $25

How To Be Frugal And Stylish In Harsh Economic Times
In this DIY project, I learned how to recover a cornice board with used Asian embroidered silk panels that I found at a thrift store.
Supplies:
I purchased 8 used panels for $20.
For this project, I used one panel to recover the cornice board, one panel to drape over the head board, one as bed spread, one panel each on two single windows, for a fresh new look.
Here’s how you can make one like it.
Cornice board, fabric, staple gun, staples, scissors, pinking shears (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1. No need to remove previous pad and cover.
Step 2. Align pattern and spread fabric on a smooth flat surface.
Step 3. Place cornice board on fabric – center best as possible.
Step 4. Pull fabric snugly by small sections and staple to secure – continue all around inside.
Step 5. Adjust fabric to fit inside corners and staple.
Step 6. Trim excess fabric with scissors or pinking shears.
Time: 20 minutes
