How To Make Money Renting Garden Plots
You Don’t Have To Do Any Gardening To Profit From This Idea
If you have ever worked on a farm, you may find it hard to believe that some folks love to grow vegetables and flowers so make money renting garden plots.
Also, if you have some land in or near a city or a mobile home park, or even in the suburbs near some apartment buildings, you might be able to rent garden plots for the summer.
The land must be cleared and divided into plots about 10 feet by 20 feet.
Simple stakes and string can do the job.
You will need a master plot map when you sign up a gardener, so you can assign him his plot and give him a copy of the map.
You might make a deal with a garden supply store to give your gardeners a 10% discount on everything they buy, and to give you a 10% commission as well.
You don’t have to own the land you rent.
Maybe you can lease it for a season from the owner and sub-lease it to the gardeners.
To get the word out, you will need to print up a flyer and have some teenagers tape one “on” each mailbox in mobile home parks, and apartment buildings in your area.
Charge from $50 to $100 for a plot, depending on size, for a season.
You can probably handle most of the business by phone and email.
Check in at the plots once in a while.
You don’t have to do any gardening yourself, just give advice.
Great for a retired person with a green thumb.
