The IRS Whistleblower Program rewards whistleblowers by paying 15 to 30% of government recoveries that result from the whistleblower’s reporting to the IRS Whistleblower Program.
Also, various government agencies pay money to “watchdogs” who finger various regulation breakers.
For example, the Environmental Protection Agency pays up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons who illegally dump hazardous substances.
While the Environmental Protection Agency and other federal and state agencies can impose fines or seek damages from polluters and others under a number of different laws, the environmental laws do not generally provide financial rewards for whistleblowers who report violations.
However, that statement does not mean it doesn’t reward IRS whistleblowers!

Moreover, the IRS Whistleblowers Program pays up to 30% reward to persons who turn in tax cheats.
And the Justice Department pays 15-25 percent (maybe more) reward to persons who finger firms engaged in defense contractor fraud.
