Residents living in multi family buildings see grocery delivery as a necessity due to increasing traffic and dwelling restrictions.
You can earn a nice income by helping them to eliminate one less errand—two when you include grocery shopping.
With the rise of the Internet economy, multiple family dwelling residents require a grocery delivery service for convenience.
It is difficult and inconvenient for people living on the 24th floor to go grocery shopping twice a week with the hassles of traffic, travel and shopping time.
These factors add up to one big time sensitive problem to get fresh groceries from the supermarket to freezer.
You can earn up to $25/hour for local or downtown grocery delivery to people living in multi family buildings.
For some of these people, a trip to the grocery store is a twice a week after work activity.
Whether it’s to run in for a carton of milk, loaf of bread or a pack of cigarettes.
And, these high-rise dwellers spend quite a bit of money when it comes to their food and alcohol.
According to Progressive Grocer, Americans spent over $638 billion in 2016 in supermarkets across the country.
Get paid for the time you spend shopping and delivering groceries.
I recommend you choose a local grocery store chain to get started near your delivery area.
Although, Amazon may be the most fun and well-paying grocery delivery service.
Give it a try to see how you like it.
Also, a company called Shipt pays people to shop.
What Is Shipt
Shipt is an on-demand grocery delivery service.
It’s used by people that either don’t have the time to shop, or simply don’t want to do their own shopping.
That’s where you come in.
Seventy nine percent of people turn to their mobile phone to help them shop, so Shipt is very popular.
They have been featured by major media outlets and publications, including Forbes, US News, World Report, Yahoo, TechCrunch, FastCompany, and WSJ.
Members of Shipt use the mobile app to choose the groceries they want, select their preferred delivery option and checkout.
Customers can order what they want without even having to leave the house.
Shipt essentially makes grocery shopping quicker, easier, and more convenient.
As customers place their own order, you go pick up the order and deliver it to the customer.
Your customers pay you to do that and deal with traffic, parking, delivery, etc.
And, if they need beverages, you can do a pickup on your route.
Instead of starting your own grocery delivery service from scratch, partner with Shipt.
They are always looking for reliable people to become shoppers—and that could be you!
As a Shipt shopper, you get paid to shop as easy as 1-2-3!
Once you accept an order, you receive a grocery list, along with an estimated shopping time, and a recommended store based on the customer’s location.
Then, you select the customer’s groceries and deliver them within a specified, delivery window.
With Shipt, you can make a nice income, if you want to work.
For each order, you earn a base rate of $5.
But, you also get 7.5% of the order total.
Most orders tend to be worth more than $35 because this is the amount that customers need to spend to qualify for free delivery.
For example, if the customer orders $40 worth of groceries, then you’ll get the base payment of $5, plus 7.5% of the order total, which is $3.
So, you’d make $8 in total.
Plus, who’s to say you won’t get fat, juicy tips!
Shipt shoppers claim to make an average of $15 to $25 per hour.
Completing multiple orders in one shopping trip can really boost your earnings.
And, let’s face it, if you’re already at the grocery store filling one order, then you may as well fill a couple more.
Just make sure that you keep each order separate!
There are a few benefits besides the obvious one when it comes to getting paid to shop for people in multi family buildings.
As a Shipt shopper, you can make as a little or as much cash as you want.
You get order requests through the app, which you can accept or deny—meaning you can take on as many or as few orders as you want.
Unlike a traditional 9 to 5 or even part time job, you aren’t restricted by a schedule as a shopper.
Shipt offers its services from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days per week, which gives you a big window to pick up deliveries.
So, if you’re only available to pick up shopping after 5 p.m. then you can!
Whether you’re a college student, a stay-at-home mom, or a 9 to 5 office worker, you can make money from Shipt, as it gives you a lot of flexibility.
All Shipt shoppers get a free membership, which is worth $14/month or $99/year.
If you just can’t get to the grocery store one day, or you’re just feeling a bit lazy that day, then you can get someone else to select and deliver your groceries for you for free.
Here are a few things to keep in mind as a grocery shopper.
The company doesn’t reimburse you for your gas or any other car related expenses.
Always look at the customer’s location when selecting orders to fill.
If it’s too far to drive, and it’s going to cost you more in gas than you’ll earn, then the order isn’t worth it.
While the larger orders earn you more money, as you get 7.5% of the order total, sometimes filling a few smaller orders can net you more money.
This is due to tips.
Shipt grocery shoppers generally get tips for each order they fill.
Always keep potential tips in mind when selecting orders.
While you do get to see the total price of an order before you choose whether or not to accept it, you don’t get to see what’s on the customer’s shopping list.
But, if there’s an item that just isn’t available at the store, then you can contact the customer through the app itself, and offer them alternatives.
To be eligible as a Shipt shopper, you need to:
Be at least 18 years old
Have access to reliable transportation
Have a valid driver’s license
Own an insulated cooler bag
Own a Smartphone
Be able to lift at least 25 pounds
To become a shopper, you need to fill out an application form.
Once Shipt have assessed your application, they’ll interview you for the position.
A background check is also required during the application process.
Overall, grocery delivery can be very profitable.
If you do it right, you can earn between $15 to $25 an hour just for picking up and delivering groceries.
This is a great gig for making a side income in the city.
